Well, for odd colors, like orange and blue, it doesn't look good, but for black and white, it would look a lot better. Unfortunately, I already did the sprites XD. Would I be allowed to post a small beta of the illus for feedback, and ideas for more attacks?

Well, here's a small beta of the illus: http://www.zshare.net/download/7433302aff9d35. I'm not contributing it at the moment, I'm putting it up here for discussion to make it better before I contribute it. I figured it's kind of stupid starting a new topic for it :P.

At the moment, it has a kind of illusionary ranged melee attack. I'm trying to think of more illusion-based attacks, but I have nothing, at the moment. I'm trying to think of a way for the illusion attack to ignore floor height changes, but +DropOff doesn't seem to be working.

Edit: I've finally finished the look for the Darkness Rift, but it'll probably be tough putting up a sprite for it :P:

This monster is interesting.

The only problem I see with this is that the Illus monster is not a good companionship to have. His ghost or illusion started attacking me and not the monster.

Yeah, doesn't work with summonfriend. I'll pack it with a friendly version, just in case someone wants it.

I'd just like to mention that I tried out the Spirit Imp, only to load it up in the lastest ZDoom and find this:

Comes out as a translucent square of pixely mess :P

That's a known issue. It only works as intended with GZdoom and shaders for texture warping enabled. To get it working, remove the animdefs lump.

Moved from the contributions thread:

Comment on the flying imp:

It was me who did the original and I certainly never did anything more than the few front on frames for the animated gif. so thanks for doing more on this.

The full version is interesting but the problem with it is that the body isn't in the right position for it being in flight. It doesn't look as if it is hanging below the wings but rather that the imp is walking around in the air with a pair of flapping wings attached to it. The flapping animation looks fine and the attachment of the wings is believable enough but something would need to be done about the body posture (think about how the gargoyles in Heretic/Hexen look).

Yeh i just saw it and thought looks interesting and took the time to put it together, i'm not an expert at the whole spriting thing, but i tried and it turned out average so i finished it, and yeh i know what u mean about how it looks like its walking, cept i'm having trouble positioning it to look like its sort of not walking, i might work some more on it when I have time.

Quite frankly, the Tornado Demon should be put in. Its concepts are so awesome and certainly deserves a place, even if it needs a little bit of editing.

Thx :) and yeh i know what you mean, some bits of it are a bit dodgy and I'm still trying to figure out what i can do to make it look a bit better, I might modify the sprites aswell if I have time,, but the thing that rly bugs is me is when it spins to become a tornado i need something better there, need some sort of sprites of it changing :S

i'll see what i come up with :p

I added a new attack to the Illus. Here's a link so I can get some feedback before I officially submit the final version: http://www.zshare.net/download/842597220204a9/.

Any suggestions?

I personally like it but it feels like it needs something more, like being able to teleport or have a trail effect like the shadow when it moves, but other than that its pretty dam cool, i particulary like the shields :)

I thought two attacks would be enough for a low-power monster, but one more probably won't hurt. I'll give it some passive, constant illusion thing, too.

i know you aren't supposed to discuss here but i think my post fits here better :P

on the illus
id say instead of Distance: projectile, meleeish, barrier. i think it should be Distance: Illusions

sounds waaaay cooler ;)
