Doom is an fps game, not a fucking racing game, its like making a Carmagedon mod where you walk around in fps view with a gun

Let people do what they want. This kind of thing didn't stop the Quake Rally guys from making a fun mod.

Well, I guess I can't argue with that. I think it's a cool idea though. Doom is not a racing game, and Doom Kart is not Doom. Different game, same engine. Think of it that way and maybe it's not such a shit idea.

I was hoping you'd have something a little more constructive to offer... I'm working on a drift racing game for zdoom currently, and I'm interested to see how people feel about this kind of thing, and what differences they would like to see between these two mods.

Considering doom is older than quake, and both were conceived and brought into existence by the same folks, I'd say doom is more like quake's big brother.

edit - double post

Hey wow, I've totally forgotten this project existed :oops:
I remember volunteering to do the cyberdemon-kart, is there still interest in this? I'd glady pick up work on that if this is going to be continued... just give me a sign!

@dokuro:
Well, you have you're own opinion, but that shouldn't encourage you to call another ones idea "shit"!
If you don't like the idea, keep away from this thread and we all are fine :wink:
