Mouse 2 Problem

Post by Ralphis »

Hey everyone, I've been experiencing some problems with Zdoom which may or may not be a windows problem. Whenever I click mouse 2, I can sort of see windows running under zdoom flicker. This is incredibly irritating since I use mouse 2 for strafing. I'm assuming this is because a dialog box is opening on the desktop, or in whatever program I may have running behind zdoom. I'm running Windows XP. Any help would be appreciated.

How are you loading ZDoom? What brand of mouse do you have, and are you using any special software (Logitech MouseWare or Microsoft Intellipoint, for example) to redefine the mouse button functions? If your mouse is set to do something special on a right-click, that might be triggering events on the desktop while you're trying to play ZDoom.

I aggree that this sounds more like a stupid mouse driver than a ZDoom problem.

It's just a normal USB mouse. This only occurs in zdoom, not any other games that I play.

I would also try upgrading your video drivers. I've seen bad video drivers do all sorts of strange things, some not even related to video output at all.

  • Just as a thought. Have you checked the IRQ settings?

Works for me. (USB IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0) As was previously suggested, you probably have some software that intercepts right mouse button clicks. That's the only thing I can think of.
