It was a rhetorical question. He most likely knows Doom's physics code is such a pile of shit that even changing a single integer there would break Doom.

Which is why you wouldn't touch it and have it as an alternate engine for compatibility. :o

Dude, even moving it to a file with a different name might break it.

It's that stupidly fragile.

... So you don't touch it. Why would you even need to? Don't touch the filename, don't touch the file, just add the ability to choose which physics engine you want in the menu.

The way some people use the word 'just' just shows that they don't know what they are talking about... :?

You "just" have to link in several unnecessary libraries, including one for full 3D sound, to use this simple spreadsheet!

Something like that, Graf? :D

I am entirely sure you'd be just as upset if I'd ask about "just" adding a OpenGL renderer a few years back.

I've noticed the word "just" gets used a helluva lot when people explain things on the electrical web. Pop along to the editing forum and see how many people tell you to "just" do something with a tool of their choice, or by using a procedure they know really well themselves, despite the fact the procedure or task in hand may be quite arcane and mysterious to the person it is being explained to. And yes, I have done it myself but I've noticed it and now try to avoid it because, all too often, there really is no "just" about it to a newbie trying to learn something.
