Hey man, I was not winning nor complaining, I was just making an optimistic comment about how cool it will be to play the maps that these guys have created.

All hail ZDOOM!!!!

Ok, I'm done with my first entry for this project :)
If you want to spoil it for yourself, get the map here and give me some feedback if possible:

http://rapidshare.com/files/52895429/Blackrock.zip.html

Note that the sky still isn't finished, but I made some more progress on it... of course, I'll reupload the map once it is done!

Be warned, that the map is pretty hard on UV from a pistol start. Keep an eye on your ammo and don't waste it!
As a little hint; most of the needed weapons are found near the start.

There're also 11 secrets in the map and although it's not required to find them, they really can make things much easier for you, so I suggest to take a closer look

The map is also very large and non-linear, so if you're not a fan of huge maps with a lot of optional areas, this one might not be right for you.
However, I tried to keep backtracking and endless switch-hunts to a minimum...

For some screenshots ans a little more info, check the map thread over at the developement forum:

Apparently we can't post attachments at the other forums, so I'll post here.

This is the still in progress music for my map, Fanboy. It's just a midi file, but I've only tested it on my computer and don't know what it sounds like on other machines. If you get a chance, take a listen to it, and let me know what you think, especially if you think it will fit in the mood of my map. But please don't post "It isn't finished" because, well, it isn't finished, but it's quite close.

Spoiler:
Naturally, the smoothness of the glowing is much better in game than this quickly assembled gif is displaying.

Still chugging along...

@Vader: I think there is a problem with loading your wad. When I use the console to go to map VAD01, it gave me a list of unknown textures. Not only that, but the map couldn't fully load. It just showed Entryway, while playing your music.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that you need to download the resource wad, available here:

Btw, I'd like to officially thank Slayer for the cool music, thanks :)

I'm sure this will sound overly cliche Vader, but Blackrock is easily one of the most awesome looking ZDoom maps I've ever played. Kudos for a lot of well placed effort.

I've run into what I think are at least a couple of bugs. Here's one example in GZDoom anyway.

Excellent work.

I have some consistents ideas, but i will construct the map for GzDoom. Is that still valid?

Great!
No, this is ZDoom only.
And no, you can't include "Decorate" or "Sounds". But music is fine.
