Okay, just to answer some of my preveose questions...
My hard drive WAS partitioned (and still is) so I had like 3 gig for 98 (drive C, that was installed first and worked fine) 5 gig for XP (installed after and did not work fine... that's the problem... why did XP work fine before, and wqhewn I upgraded my board, chip, memory and video card it doesn';t detect and USB device or LAN thingy? Yet all of this worked flawlessly in 98... and works flawlessly in 2000 now... I don't get that...). And then I had like 10 gig on drive E fo dos games, about 20 gig for newer games on drive F and like 32 gig on drive G for all of my music related stuff.
So far, 2000 is proving to be far better than XP because it ain't so damn annoying. XP was great, but what stopped it working fine in my newer system? This exact same setup worked effortlessly and flawlessly for ages with no problems, but now it doesn't. Im' sure its this shitty security thing where XP doesn't like my new motherboard because it's too new for the program...
As for virus, I've forgotten to install one and I have no protection ATM... I better at least enable my firewall

.
Man, I thin I'm gonna take the really long and hard option... I'm gonna completely format my drive and load up a duel boot of 98se and 2000... it's makes Dos games a lot easier to play and I get good performance from 2k...
For this, by-the-way, I set up my two partitions (98 will be about 5gig and 2k will be about 10 gig). I do this because that is all that will be on that drive, meaning that it only has to search through those files. I don't need to format my drives inany particular way because if I install 98 first on drive C and then set 2k to install on drive D then when the computer boots I am able to select wehich one I can load up... this SHGOULD work fine... stay tuned cus this is gonna be a lot of hassle
