I working on the "Ignist" for DE, it basicaly replaces the Revevant for Episode 3, since I dont want some techno-monsters in the environment. This monster is basically a burning charred skeleton (you may need to zoom in to see the shading) that shoots homing burning skull projectiles or smacks up close. I'm not sure if i should keep the current design or not. Here's a sprite from it.
Any suggestions on it? I was originally gonna make it some Lava-golem like monster. But i htink i'm gonna save that for the mancubus replacements.
It's good, but do you think it might be possible to go with something more like a clawed hoof instead of the spindly toes it has now? The way they look (especially when on the floor) is very odd.

This original sprite work is a lot more like what I'd hope to see from a sprite-maker of Eriance's talent. Very good, but yeah, the yellow is a little much... tone it down... perhaps make it more orange.
Yellows and oranges are limited in the Doom palette, so there won't be much to play with and keep it looking good but the yellow is a bit stark ATM.
I like the horns and shoulder spikes. To me, that's a hell-beast and I see no reason why it needs to be more human. Something like that would be far more scary than a near-human IMO.
As for the feet, I dunno. I like the spindly toes. I think they're kind of creepy. Not sure how well hooves would look on this one.
Anyway, great stuff Eriance, I look forward to seeing this one in action.
