Heh. What Cold is trying to say in a sulky manner is that I tested his level for him and found that, as it was little more than a bunch of levels from Doom 2 shoved together (with new monsters, slight modifications, and such), it would not be accepted by 3DArchives (or probably any other relevant FTP for that matter) because it contains oodles and oodles of original id levels.

Create a new map.
Open MAP01. Copy everything in it to your new map (ignoring the fact that DB has just screwed over several texture alignments)
Repeat for maps 02-08. Stick them wherever they'll fit.
Remove the exit switch from MAP01, replace with a long boring hall that leads to the MAP02 entrance.
Repeat for remaining maps. If you get stuck because there's nowhere to put a hall, use transfer heights and tunnel under the existing map.
Okay, that was fun. I think everyone has had at least a passing thought about using hubs to connect the stock Doom levels, or using tunnels or transporters or... god knows what. But at some point you have to realize "Okay, that sounded cool in my head, but the result is less than stellar". Is it any more realistic to have completely unrelated and incompatible levels strung together by narrow winding hallways than it is to have levels ending with a switch and then finding yourself in a new location?
Who hasn't thought it might be neat to have the stock levels upgraded with ZDoom features? Add a colored light here, put a slope there; but then you remember that these are levels people have played zillions of times, and they'd much rather see something original that would entertain them, instead of the same old constructs they could navigate blindfolded.
I'm not trying to harsh on Cold here. Practice makes perfect, and he's been learning and using a ton of new features. Now he needs to come up with an original idea to put these newfound skills to use.
Heh

If you must know, it was originally DeeP (which is why the correct capitalization is DeePsea, not DeepSea). It stood for something like... ummm... Doom.... ummm... editting.......... uhhhhh.... and uhhh...... ether stuff Program. Yeah. (RandomLag's not known for his speeling ablities.) And DeesP sounded stupid.giest118 wrote:2) DeepSea?
