As anybody didn't care, Shadow Warrior, one of the Duke Nukem build engine have full 3D floor support. Not just by trick. its really a room over a room, try decompilling Shadow Warrior maps and open it with build, you will see.

Hurray! That is exactly what i wanted to say! The enigne with full ROR support. But it is still 2.5D. Let's say... 2.75D.

Oh, it's not just ZDoom. People have brilliant ideas for 'improvements' to all sorts of programs that are either near-impossible to implement or just stupid. Someone told me two days ago that it's not fair that monsters in Ragnarok Online can swarm you, and they should take turns if there are too many.

Gyaaaaa!!! You fool. It might be 2.5D but it's completely different from Zdoom! Just because another fucking 2.5D game has this then it doesn't mean that Zdoom will/should have!!!!! Shut up now!!!!!

The bottom line is that if Randy wants to Add 3D floors then thats up to him and he will when he wants to... but he obveously doesn't and you can convincingly fake these things anyway... (See the tutorial section... I'm not talking about just bridge things here... I'm talking about placing an ordinary texture instead of deep water sort of thing... see Rex's Darkest Hou TC, you'll get your 3D floors there!).

If you like Build so much then make your fucking levels with that! Why don't you edit Unreal or something if your that bothered about 3D floors!? [/rant]

Wouldn't adding build like 3d floors require an increadible re-write of the map structure? I know legacys 3d floors are more like a hack (and 3d floors are really over-rated anyways). Back in the good old days of doom, we found alternitive ways to make 3d effects that worked. A good example of this would be the ikspecial wads. Just becasue we have the luxury of asking for features to be implimented dosn't give us the right to abuse it. All good things come with time, and besids, i'd rather have a really well functioning engine to work with over one that crashes and fails becasue of changes to the map structure. I'll shut up now

I just wanted to say that. It IS possible to make multiple floors, ROR using just 2.5D engine. I do not like Legacy hack floors.

I was just thinking to make a street with building, real building with floors, elevators, stairs, etc. I like DOOM most, it's gameplay, monsters etc. That's why i want it DOOM. If DOOM will support full ROR without big performcance hit just imagine how enormous city of Building with monsters in it can be? Just my dreams...

Legacy's 3D-floors add another floor/ceiling in the sector. Insofar it's not a hack. The problem is that Doom's renderer is not quite suited to handle such a construct. If that wasn't the case I think every source port would have them right now. In an OpenGL renderer, on the other hand, it's ridiculously simple to add 3D-floor display. Just draw a few polygons more and you are done!
