That doesn't surprise me at all.

200 is the maximum height, and 320 is the maximum width. I still have WinTex/DeuTex installed just in case XWE for some reason absolutely fails it, but I certainly don't use it for graphics -- or scripts, for that matter.Graf Zahl wrote:The problem with Deutex is its bad patch converter. As soon as your patches become too tall it will completely screw up your graphics. I think it's 256 pixels but I can't remember since I haven't used it in a while. Ever since ZDoom had Zip support I stopped using WADs and Doom patch format altogether.Vaecrius wrote:Deutex + batch files = update and test with a double-click
I use MS-Paint (to excellent effect). Cyan is the masking color, and I know even older tools will recognise it as the masking color. Just use 256-color bitmaps, they're more comfortable to work with (but make sure the BMP is tied to the Doom palette).XutaWoo wrote:I can't install GIMP? Any other graphic converters?
If you took any time at all to read the install instructions, you'd see you need to get GTK+ 2.4 before you can install Gimp. I've never had a problem installing Gimp after installing GTK.XutaWoo wrote:I can't install GIMP? Any other graphic converters?

For people who actually take the time to figure it out, Gimp works fine. Given that it's free and it otherwise couldn't be done without professional graphics programs, I'd say both comments are a tad harsh.Yardstick wrote:Avoid GIMP at all costs, it's a piece of trash.
Funny that it was recommended in this very thread for editing the "stupid Doom game".Blade Nightflame wrote:Outside of editing the stupid Doom game, GIMP is a good rounded tool for artists not focusing on such an age old mystical game.
