Help ripping!!!

Post by DBThanatos »

Here I am again making a monster/weapons mod, this time with base in Hexen 2, I think that game has a lot of good stuff but was wasted, that is my opinion (I would love to make this a TC, with levels, but I suck making them so... i limit my self to monsters and weapons (but if anyone would like to contribute with levels...)) I have almost all mosters ripped and a few are already decorated.

The problem I have is that the weapons sprites that I ripped looks very crappy, and I cant get better results ripping since I dont have in my pc any kind of graphic acelerator or whatever is needed, so if anyone could help me ripping them... in fact, that is the reason why my q2 "full project" stopped, the same weapons ripping problem. :(

here is the link to a few ripped weapons, and there is a decorated weapon (spell1) to test how does the sprites look right now in the game (is only a test)...

'Fraid to say that generally speaking, 3D models don't turn into sprites very well without losing some (if not quite a bit) of quality. I'd say that it wouldn't matter what you used, without some serious editing (perhaps even not then) there would be no way to make these any better.

That being said, I personally think you're overreacting. While they are not the best in quality when blown up on-screen, these are certainly some of the more better looking model-to-sprite conversions I've seen. I don't think I would mind them in the state they are now, considering how difficult it is to make 3D rips look even remotely useable. Don't think they get any better than this, methinks, but I don't think they need it so badly.

ohh. well... im going to keep working on the monsters, and im going to keep looking for something better for the weapons, if nothing found, then i'll complete the weapons rips and join them to the mod.

Anyways, Im still seeking for anyone that would help me with the levels, Im really interested in making this a TC (i think this have potential!).

Anyone?
no?
uhm...

the time will tell.
