Populating Adessa

Post by LilWhiteMouse »

To anyone whom already has a copy of my abandoned Adessa hub test a monster for me?

Summon the SnailCrab and see if it's visible enough to shoot at a distance please.

[EDIT] From within the Adessa maps I should mention.

I could see it well enough to know it was there. I tried it in the starting room, spawned it at the outer edge of one of the circles, and went to the other end. I could see it, even with a refelection of a sunny window taking up most of the screen and making it hard to see anything in dark areas.

I'm using GZDoom to test this, with default lighting, gamma and contrast settings.

It's quite visible. The colours kind of blend with the whole spaceship though...

So will we finally see Adessa with living things in it? Sounds great.

BTW - Wandering around empty Adessa kind of gave the feeling of exploring an empty abandoned ship. It was creepy...

Same here. In both, ZDoom96x and in GZDoom1011, the snailcrab blended in nicely with the textures.
Their highlighted outlines makes them just noticable from a distance. After summoning a lot of those critters,
I love the way they clamour over each other to get at you.

As an aside, I also would really like to see a shilla like monster. Many times have I used it in adessa.
Now that is creepy.
