I want cool (ripped) music for my levels
How do you import UT .umx music files for use in Doom? When I try it with XWE, the music refuses to play.

Use ModPlug Tracker to save the UMX files as IT format. Then they'll work.
@wildweasel: That Modplug Tracker thing kicks arse.

1. *.umx is the Unreal extension for music files. Open them in the editor (unreal ed in the music tab) load the files and EXPORT them as modules.
2.To get free, ripped music here are various game soundtracks:

I laugh at your preceding post, Giest. Your misfortune is my energy source. Your mistakes are my blessings. My currently derailed train of thought is your worst nightmare.
To breathe a miniscule fraction of life into my ailing words, I shall make the futile attempt to reconstruct the fallen timbers of my mind and make a long-winded and weary return to the previous subject.
Ripped music is acceptable depending on the source and the purpose. In this case, as long as you don't steal a particularly well-recognized item. For a bad example, let's say for instance Green Day's "American Idiot". Not a well-chosen tune, but the point still stands that commercialized pieces may not be in your best ripping interests.
To visit the opposing extreme, the predefined definition of jacking Unreal UmXes appears to be a well-chosen... choice. Although my poetic form fades into oblivion, the fact still remains that if self-invention of music composition skills is not in your best interests, ripping from certain sources is an available path for travel. Modarchive.com is always a solid Plan B from the start, as everything under the sun can be located in that site's general vicinity.
