Using Doom Builder,have question.

Post by Skirmisher »

Is there any way to load more than ONE additional texture wad when editing a level?

Right now I 'm editing a level using the AVP texture.wad from the afterglow, along with the regular doom2.wad textures.
I'd really like to be able to load in additional wads and have a really large selection of availible textures.

:) Thank You.

No, you can only load 1 resource wad. Try merging the texture wads with XWE

I loaded in a couple texture wads, then used the merge fuction. The program appeared to be doing something, but when i checked the wads in Doom Builder they remained like they were. There was no actual change in the wads.

What is the correct procedure for merging the wads. The merge fuction doesn't seem to work.

Fire -> merge. Then pick 1 wad at a time and merge both (the one you're in with the destinated one). Repeat ad nauseum.

Thanks for the responses, but I'm still missing something.

I merged the wads as instructed, still nothing at all availible from the second wad I merged into it.
DoomBuilder is still showing AVP textures and standard doom 2 textures.

The modified wad file caused doom to crash, obviously I'm missing something important. So I unzipped the untained wad files back into the directory and the game doesnt crash now. Still on square one as far a merging wads though.

Try deleting all the non-graphic lumps from the merged wad using XWE. Then place a TX_START at the top of the list and a TX_END at the bottom.

I suspect there are multiple PNAMES and TEXTUREx lumps...
