Of course you can jump over the kneeling guy. And other objects.
Edit: And monsters.
@Deathlike: I learned to accept the fact that Strife and Hexen work best when played with vanilla exes.

Well, if you can obtain a copy of the game (I'm obviously not going to mention how, but Strife is out there).. you can DEFINATELY run it in XP (I'm already running it in 2K).In other words, for some reason he can't test it. Not that he doesn't want to or just won't. I suspect he's running an XP machine that simply can't run the original Strife. No matter how annoyed you get, if that is the situation he will never test it because he won't be able to.
Just get VDMSound, and practically the issue is moot. Then again, if he's running Linux or whatever, then I can see the slight problem.

The performance is better if you don't enable "Basic VESA Support" in VDMSound. It seems counter intuitive, but the performance gain is vast (emulating the feature is rather pointless).I personally have the game and whilst I can get it to run under XP, I'd hardly say it runs well, even with VDMSound or a hacked exe designed to do basically the same thing as VDMSound.

I have never gotten used to the fact that lost souls do not count as kills. They used to in pre-1.666 versions and their counting as monsters was only removed when the Pain Elemental was introduced as an enemy. To me, it was always laziness/ a bug introduced with Doom2. It annoyed me, made 100% kills runs harder to verify and I'm glad that it's been fixed in Zdoom.HobbsTiger1 wrote:Still, we have gotten used to the fact that lost souls are not counted as kills! And IMO there should be a compat option for that. Because AFAIC its not a bug in vanilla.
