Some of you may remember that I posted an idea for a city .wad a few weeks ago. Since then I have fleshed out my ideas a little more and have formed a more concise vision. The only problem I am faced with now is what port to base it off of - and see if anyone who's handy with weapon mods would like to help out.
For those who are interested, I have included a list of ideas that I wish to incorporate and a general synopsis of the mod:

Urban Decay

Synopsis:
The aim is recreate Doom 2 on earth with semi-modern weaponry - intending to infuse Doom 2 with real-world surroundings and weapons. The goal is to create a mod that is a little more realistic than Doom 2 normally is, while still retaining some of the arcade features. In essence, it is to create an action movie "feel" while still being somewhat realistic.
The general ideas:
10 Single Player Maps with a full fledged Multiplayer component.
1. Weapon and Player Upgrades. (Double Damage, Speed running, super jump, silenced weapons, etc.)
2. Decrease running speed by 25%. Footstep sounds for both hard and grass surfaces.
3. Falling damage after falling 50 map pixels. Maximum damage of 20%.
4. Increase pistol firing by 50%. Reload after 12 shots.
5. Akimbo Pistols after picking up another pistol. This means that in multiplayer, if a player dies holding the pistol he drops it.
6. Replace Chaingun with SMG weapon. Firing rate stays the same, damage decrease by 10%. Also Akimbo-able. Reloads after 30 shots. 60 if akimbo'd.
7. Rocket Launcher firing speed decreased by 50%. Rocket travels 50% faster. Reloads after 3 shots.
8. BFG Replaced with Sniper Rifle. Reloads after 5 shots. Extremely powerful. Zooms in for a 5x zoom.
9. Plasma Rifle replaced with Army Rifle of some sort. 50 shot clip. Same damage, no projectile (obviously). 10% more damage than SMG.
10. Shotgun. Same rate of fire and damage. Reloads after 8 shots.
11. Proximety Mines if possible.
12. Shell casing ejections if possible.
13. Gunsmoke if possible.
And I can't post up ideas without some proof of work:
The screenshots are very early and don't have a lot of the newer graphics in them like street lamps and road markings.
Basically, I am capable of handling artwork, presentation, and mapping. Otherwise, to make this idea become a reality I will need another mapper and a talented weapons modder to join. I also want to stress that I'm not sure which port would handle this concept the best. I've heard that GZDoom would be appropriate, and others have said Edge.
And of course, nothing is set in stone so I'm open to ideas and suggestions.
from everything I've heard and experienced, ZDoom / GZDoom is by far the most capable in terms of modding, compounded by the addition of DECORATE weapons. I'd say go GZDoom.
I always wanted to make some city-like levels, and I'm still working on NeoDoom with a lot of city textures. New weapons are available too. Sorry, I don't have time to join your mod, but I'm inviting you if you want to make some city levels for NeoDoom... just PM me if you're interested.
