Hey, is there shader support yet? I noticed a gl_useshaders command but the shaders.wad that comes with Zdoomgl doesnt seem to work. Also any chance of supporting addictive lights or whatever? To create a nice glow. Jdoom has glowing lights but I think its just a less ugly type of halo.

No. I haven't fully understood yet what ZDoomGL's shader code is doing.

The CVAR is for something completely different.

It's additive (without 'c'!)

Currently there is no real support for them although the engine defaults to additive lights in foggy areas. The code as to be rewritten to do it correctly.

Oh also, I noticed the GLLIGHT graphic. Any chance that you can let people specify what graphic is used on a per light basis? I already have begun experiments in making a more torch like variant. Hmmm... I wonder if warping and/or animation it would be possible too... Wuhahahahahaha.....

im am not a moron i know a whole shit load about computers and the error gzdoom is really fdup and if will start in software mode like you say then the error shouldnt happen well you wanted to know what video card and i told you the exact type but instead you ingored it and no i know your busy (making the doom community better

) and i dont want you to jump through hoops.

and for deathsong well if Gzdoom is that much diffrent then i guess i dont want to play it cause iv been dooming since doom came out and if GZdoom changed that much more than jdoom or risen3d then i dont consider it to be true doom. Doom is great as is but the dynamic lights i like and get as advance as i want doom to get.

Just because I didn't respond doesn't mean I ignored it. What am I supposed to say? You have crap hardware and get crap results - as expected. My suggestion would be to upgrade - but that's something you outright refuse. What am I supposed to do? The engine needs features your card doesn't have to handle ZDoom's advanced capabilities.

It's ZDoom based so if ZDoom changes the game too much for you I can't help you.

cloud if you knew as much as you say you do about computers you wouln't try to run newer GL applications (or GL apps at all for that matter) with your graphics adapter. I'm amazed you can get jDoom or Risen3D to even run.

i feel and seem like a total jackass im sorry but it is not a good time in my life right now (grandma has cancer my dad missed my highschool gradutation and didnt even call or anything and my mom needed surgry angain and was out of work for 3 months moneys been tight around my family for a long time) so i dont have the money for parts or a new pc. i have been working like 50 hrs a week suppporting my mom me and my brother plus i go to college to be come a programmer im very stressed and have had little paitence latly now i guess you could consider this whole thing an apollogy (not spelled right) GZdoom should not go to hell you have worked hard on it and i was wrong in degrading your wonderful work i now hate myself for doing so and now i will leave zdoom forums for my innapropiate and horrible behavior so i bid all farwell and much luck with GZdoom and Zdoom and yeah i would like to play but you cant get what you always want.

jdoom and risen3d run like a dream even with 3dmodels and detailed textures and i like to push my pc to its limit i run warcraft 3 and quake3 arena yes my card is shitty but you get what you pay for (mom bought pc) i tried adding a better video card but the built in one overides the other one i did everything that i possably could (includeing reinstalling windows xp) my pc is a shitty E-machine and i have parts at home but i need a motherboard to put it all together.
