i want to use the origonal doom .mp2 songs.

Post by death734 »

this website http://doomdepot.doom2.net/music.html#pc has all the real doom mp2's. they are real recorded versions from the makers of the doom music. they were origonaly from http://www.doomworld.com but at the doom depo site you dont need to wait 4 min to download a song

if i need to i can convert the songs to mp3's. but i need a wad editor that can actualy load them. right now i have wintex 4.3 and that piece of crap cant use any of the zdoom features.

so does anyone know were i can get a wad editor to import mp3 files into a wad?
is mp3 the correct format that i would need to convert them to with out loosing any quality?

How helpful!

ZDoom can play the MP2's as they are. And yes, WinTex is a piece of crap. Use XWE instead. It can import anything into a WAD.

But not without needlessly jumping through hoops to get where you want. It's an old and obsolete tool that hasn't been updated for ages and what's worse, it tends to think too much.

While XWE admittantly has issues it is far better than WinTex. To me WinTex is like WinDEU: it's a windows version (thus less functional on average) of a perfectly good DOS program. And as for ZDoom features, WinTex is overly difficult to use to get the job done.

I used to Wintex until they updated XWE to auto-view images and auto play sounds. Now XWE is much easier to use.

Now I only use Wintex for those...other...things.

Yea man u can just import the MP2 straight into the wad with XWE. Ive done it many times :D .

As for the other people talking. I used to use WinTex for everything until it like completely crashed one of my wads. After that i found out about XWE and ive used it ever since. I likie it.
