Yep. You'd have to pack the altered exe. The bad thing about doing this is, when Randy Updates Zdoom to the next version, you'd have to update the modified exe, too to keep it compatible.

This is a yes and no kind of situation. If Zell's mod is intended to work with Zell's levels and only Zell's levels, then there really isn't a need to keep on updating the exe every time Randy updates Zdoom because his exe will add nothing to other people's levels.

If Zell has everything working as he wants in his version, then he doesn't need to try and keep pace with the official one. If, of course, Randy introduces something into Zdoom that Zell feels is essential to his mod, and modifes his stuff accordingly, then yes, he needs to keep pace.

Yes, but what if Randy changes something that makes Zell's exe not work, like maybe zdoom.wad? What i'm saying is that he'd at least have to check to make sure it's compatible with each new zdoom version.

EDIT: Darn punctuation errors.

Well, if Zell is changing the source, he could also change the part that looks for zdoom.wad and make it look for zell.wad instead, and whilst he's at it, make it use a different ini too, then there should be no compatability clashes. :)

Good point! Problem Solved, Plus, people don't even need to have Zdoom to play his wad, then! It's like a miniature port on its own!
