bug with Doom Fusion loading

Post by James Flasch »

The last few devbuilds (as far back as pre 241 (May 16) at least) give the log file in the spoiler below when I try to run the latest version of doom_fusion.ipk3 with them. The latest version on the website (4.14.2, posted May 3) does not, however. It thus seems that a bug has been introduced since then. Hopefully it will be squashed before the next devbuild. BTW, all builds of GZDoom were run with the same set of addon files listed in the log. I use Windows 10 as of now.)

Well, I got that issue with the most recent four devbuilds. The official release version, as noted, does not produce the errors. There was no difference in what was loaded with each build.

It's not physically possible to fix an error condition I cannot create.

Please don't get me wrong - I'm not doubting that you're getting the error, I trust that you are - the problem is not that. The problem is, I need a way to get the same error in order to fix it.

All the errors seem to relate to something already existing/duplicate entries.

So, that implies to me a lump is being loaded twice and the file is essentially conflicting with itself.

Has the mod been edited at all? Like, could the DECORATE/ZScript files have been duplicated in the mod by accident somehow?

Oh, I think I see what is happening. His version of Doom Fusion is incorporating the ID24 stuff that GZDoom later officially picked up.

Unfortunately this can only be solved from Doom Fusion's side. If Doom Fusion wants to do that it will have to name-prefix its actors - i.e. DF_ID24Whatever

That's correct. I removed the ID24 stuff as soon as it was picked up by GZDoom. This is not a GZDoom bug.

For now, if you're using a devbuild of GZDoom, you'll have to use the a devbuild of WadFusion to generate your Doom Fusion IPK3.

It's slightly inconvenient, but I'd like to avoid making a release of Fusion that requires a GZDoom devbuild rather than a stable release.
