Glory kill is great, if only there was a mod like that to mix with others, or for vanilla

angled DOOM? More like DOOM graphics overhaul. Please make it support vertical bullet spread.

Re: Angled Doom v0.8, ADP v2.1 and AD Lite v1.1
My sincerest apologies for the bump, but I've got a major bug to report with Angled Doom 0.8 - your random spawners in Actors\Misc\RandomSpawners.txt are not properly transferring the AMBUSH flag, leading to many situations where ambushing monsters will react to gunfire instead of waiting for the player to come within view. The best place to check this is Doom 2 Map02, by firing a shot in the opening room; the shotgunners from the "house" on the other end of the map will start teleporting in, when they aren't supposed to yet.
To fix this, every call of A_SpawnItem in RandomSpawners.txt needs to be replaced with A_SpawnItemEx("monstername", 0,0,0,0,0,0,0, SXF_TRANSFERAMBUSHFLAG).

What if i told you that i was thinking about that today? Recently i was thinking about coming back to the mod and just as you said, the moment i fired the first shot on map02 i was surrounded by the shotgunners from the the outside area. I was wondering how to fix that oddity and here you gave the answer! Thank you so much Weasel, i'll wrap a quick update later today with the fix!

Re: Angled Doom v0.8, ADP v2.1 and AD Lite v1.1
Hi. Is there an easy way to copy the dynamic lights from the main mod and add them to ADL 1.1? I really miss them when I play ADL with Cheelo's Voxel Doom. Would it be a relatively easy process in SLADE, or would it require some mad modding skills?

Re: Angled Doom v0.8, ADP v2.1 and AD Lite v1.1
I created this account on the forum because I really wanted to leave this comment.
I would like to say that this is one of the best mods I have ever seen. I've tested several mods, always trying to find a balance between simplicity and effects, without affecting the original gameplay.
I still don't have the knowledge to create my own mods, so I was looking for some that would give my game some lighting effects, liquids, better barrel explosions, blood, etc.
I have already combined several mods, such as CodeFX, Smooth (only for weapons), Nashgore, and another mod to break decorations, etc. A bit complex, but I managed to get by with them.
Without mods, I believe the closest I got to what I wanted was using the DOOMRETRO engine, which improves barrel explosions, adds effects to liquids and more blood, keeping the gameplay intact. However, DOOMRETRO is a limited engine compared to GZDOOM.
To my surprise, I found Angled Doom! This mod supplies everything I wanted to see, it combines everything I would like to have. Well, if I could report just one detail that I would like to see, it would be for the screen to shake a little when a barrel explodes. But I can play without it and be happy. Anyway, it's very good and satisfying to use just a single mod file to have everything needed for the game.
Thank you very much for creating this amazing mod!
[I apologize if my English is not perfect, as it is not my native language.]

I can absolutely recommend Supercharge, if you want something simple yet modern. And also Beautiful Doom's modern class too. And lastly, EVP.xerxeslins wrote: ↑Sun Jun 02, 2024 12:44 pm I created this account on the forum because I really wanted to leave this comment.

Re: Angled Doom v0.8, ADP v2.1 and AD Lite v1.1
Long time no see, fellas!
So, firstly, sorry to bump my own thread without any new versions or updates. I was absent from the forums for a long while now, and while i was active in a particular Discord community, i haven't modded anything in years. Two years, to be more precise. As we grow older, we get a lot of responsibilities that we were not used to - and i guess most of you have heard this before. I've been living by myself since 2022, and taking care of my house, my cat and my bills took a severe toll into my modding free time. And all of the sudden, i'm 35 years old and life isn't how i planned yet. I'm going to be honest, i really thought for a while that my Doom modding days were done.
But they are not.
With the release of Dark Ages - which i can't run on my setup as i write this post - i saw the videos, the hype, and the dormant passion for modding is alive again! I'm back to the game, quite literally.
I would like to thank you all for playing Angled Doom over the years and showing support! While i don't know when i'm going to update it again, know that i'm still modding, and i'm still working on new stuff, bringing back some of my unfinished mods from limbo. Expect new things to be dropped here at the forums soon.
Stay tuned and, one last time, thank you. Feels good to be back.
