Hi. It seems that the servers for Alphatius are running on qzan version 1.4.14, while version 1.4.18 has already been released. Maybe that's why I can't play on the servers?
I've found out that versions past 1.4.14 have some rendering changes that create some issues with the shader mod that the servers are running, and has also been causing me some texture bugs (apparently I'm the only one that's encountered it so far, but it makes it hard to play). I've reverted the servers back to 1.4.14 and changed the Q-Zandronum link in the initial post to link to the correct version (at least until the bug is fixed).
Apparently it was a shader mod in my skins folder causing the issue, not the engine. The servers are going back to the latest version .

Is it correct that Alphatius is actually a new game, linked to doom only by the game engine? Does it have its own iwad or ipk3?
It does not require any commercial IWADs, just Q-Zandronum and the mod itself. The IWAD it comes with has an empty MAP01 marker and no additional data.

This is very good. I experimented and found that Q-zan is quite tolerant of non-standard iwads. But Q-zan doesn't seem to support standalone ipk3 to make it look like one piece?
Why do we need fake.iwad now if we can run ipk3 autonomously? I made it based on Nash's standalone game and it runs in zandronum and q-zan.
The example file can be found here, although I made it for k8vavoom, it also works on the above mentioned ports. https://doomer.boards.net/post/65626
p.s. Of course, the player model file does not work, k8v uses its own determinants.

Zandronum and Q-Zandronum unfortunately do not support ipk3's. Hence why I use an empty IWAD.
