My map breaks GZDoom hardware rendering

Post by taviow »

Hello!

I'm making a map for a project and unfortunately have been running into a very strange issue that pops up exclusively on GZDoom, particularly hardware rendering. Software rendering fares better but still encounters this strange behavior from certain angles.

Testing the map on DSDA and everything looks as expected.

Here's a few screenshots to illustrate the problem. First on DSDA:

Exact same location on GZDoom:

It's worth noting that only certain angles cause this glitch. I haven't been able to resolve it by any means that I've tried such as moving the vertices around or rebuilding nodes.

Since the map is unreleased I would not like to post it publicly. But I would DM the map if someone would kindly take a look at this problem.

Thank you.

We cannot debug screenshots and videos. If you want this fixed we need the actual map!

Oh sure, I'll DM you the map then :). Thanks for responding.

Edit: can you authorize me to DM? While I guess it wouldn't be a huge deal necessarily, since the project is unreleased as of right now I didn't want to post the map publicly yet.

Edit 2: better idea, I'll DM the map via doomworld.

I already analyzed this via a Doomworld PM.
The problem with this map was a Boom Transfer Heights issue that violated some preconditions of how it should be used and where the hardware renderer glitched out.
