DestDec (v2) The Heretizen Update

Finally decided to publish my first Doom mod :D

This is DestDec (Destroyable Decorations), basically turns the vanilla doom decorations into a destroyable ones, while trying to give the animated ones (like torches) a fancy coat of paint and keeping everything as light as posible.

Includes:
-A destroyable version of most of the vanilla doom decorations.
-better visuals for torches and barrels.
-Options to disable and limit certain effects that may affect performance.
-As of (v2, updated on 06/12/23), Heretic compatibility

Notes:
*This mod is still WIP, but as is now, its in a pretty stable state (and feedback would be great to improve it).
*DestDec uses a lot of textured particles, so the minimum version of Gzdoom needed is 4.9.

Been having fun with this mod. The only feedback I would give would be like, a health setting to make decorations have less or more health, and giving torches their own debris sprites but so far it seems great. Surprisingly light too

Thanks! About the health setting, i just added it in the github repository, so you can download it there instead of waiting for the next full update (i have heretic compatibility planned )

I've been throwing this on my autoload quite frequently. Pretty good stuff! The torch effects are pretty and not intrusive (i.e. flashy bright effects, upscaled sprites and huge GLDEFS), and the sound effects are smooth.

This is great idea, maybe the barrels explosion could be more bigger? Or have small debris flying out? Otherwise than that looks great.

Just spawned here to announce the v2 update

The main highlight being the Heretic compatibility (and a little silly option for sigil wad).
Didnt make a real changelog, but all the changes are in the github commits.

Anyway, probably the next update will be adding Hexen compatibility
