Temple of the Lizard Men 3 - GOLD EDITION RELEASED!

Post by Alando1 »

Hello everybody! It has been 10 years since I released the original Temple of the Lizard Men 3. Two years later, I released Version 2.0 to fix some minor issues. Now, in 2023, Temple of the Lizard Men 3 is back with the Gold Edition!

Here are some of the changes:

- Added Enforcer Pistol
- Tweaked Semi-Auto Shotgun
- Tweaked Assault Rifles
- Tweaked Flak Launcher; Has faster reload
- Updated User Interface GFX & Menu
- Tweaked some levels
- Any weapon with a reload function can now be reloaded using either Alt-Fire or the Reload Key
- Changed Player 1, Player 3, and Player 4 names

The gameplay remains true to the original for the most part. Some of the weapons have been updated so you'll be ready to go toe-to-toe with those pesky lizards. Enjoy! :)

@Rex705 - I was watching some of your YouTube gameplay videos; I enjoyed them, by the way - I admit TOTLM3 had some moments where it felt like it did go on longer than it should've. When I was working on it back then, initially, the game was supposed to end after the battle with the Shadow Serpent. For some reason, I wanted to add a whole bunch more levels and do a full 32 level mega wad. To be honest, I shouldn't have made all those levels. However, I've always considered TOTLM3 a very good learning experience. I tried some new things to see what worked and what didn't work and I took what I learned and applied them to TOTLM4 and TOTLM5. With the Gold Edition, indeed I wanted to return to TOTLM3 and give it the TLC it should've received. I went back to clean up some levels and made the experience less annoying and further improved the quality of the gameplay. Thank you for playing my wads, by the way :) I enjoy watching people play through the TOTLM games.

I think this also happened to the developers of Blade of Agony with one of the chapters They were so enthralled with all the cool stuff they wanted to add that the gameplay got terribly bogged-down and became tedious. They acknowledged the problem and released revised versions later. Yes, it's a learning experience for us all - both the players and the authors. I played a little of TotL2 v2.0 recently and it looked gorgeous. Seemed a bit too linear in the first levels, ammo too plentiful, and enemies too easy but then when you finally do meet the lizard men, WATCH OUT! lol.
