If you want help you're going to have to provide lots of info. Like what is your hardware, what is your operating system, what version of GZDoom/LZDoom/whatever you're using, what mods you're loading, how you're loading it, what you've already tried for fixing the problem, and anything else that is even remotely relevant to the problem.
We can't magically figure out what it is if you're going to be vague, and if we feel like you're just wasting our time with guessing games we will act like that's what you're really doing and won't help you.

GZDoom Ctrl/Alt/Shift/direction combo not working
I’m getting back into Doom II and I love classic controls. No mouse or WASD for me. However, when I try to shoot, run, and strafe at the same time I’m not able to change direction. The l/r/u/d arrows work sporadically or not at all when I hold that button combo. I’m using Linux Mint 20.3. The problem doesn’t happen in DOSBox interestingly. But I’d much rather use GZDoom if possible. Anyone have an idea what’s going on?

Re: GZDoom Ctrl/Alt/Shift/direction combo not working
PS I’ve tried changing or deactivating any Linux Mint keyboard bindings that have the Ctrl+Alt+Shift combo but that didn’t stop the problem I’m having in GZDoom. Is there any other info I can give that might be helpful in figuring this out?

because that's that they do. You cannot circlestrafe keyboard only, while using the arrows only and a strafe button. The only way to do that is:DooMMood wrote: I love classic controls.
1. Use the mouse, as John Romero intended.
2. Use WASD + Arrows.
3. Use WASD + Mouse like everyone else.

DOSBox is probably getting inputs differently than gzdoom does.

, and . were strafe keys with classic controls so that did make circle strafing possible. You could do opposites (← and .) to do an inward facing one or sames (→ and .) for an outward facing one. Unfortunately though the turn rate is so fast that the circle is very tight, but it does work.

I know that. I said that it's impossible with only arrows and alt.
