Is there a mod/fork of zdoom that generates infinite levels??

Is there a mod/fork of zdoom that generates infinite levels??

As the title says, is there a mod or a fork of zdoom that can procedurally generate levels as you play it? It would be crazy to see an algorithm in Doom spitting out infinite levels as you play it. not like oblige where you have to open a program & then generate the levels. It will kind of be like Minecraft, where there are infinite possibilities & a random world each time you play.

Well, impossible because of BSP. The level has to be created before map starts.

Sorry, but comparing doom to minecraft is funny. :lol:

This project would like to have a word with you, about the definition of the word "impossible".

Granted it's still a proof of concept but if it was more fleshed out, yes, it is definitely possible to fully procedurally generate an entire level. The only caveat is, with GZDoom in its current state, it's not possible to save and load to the same level, every incarnation will be different even if you load the game.

At this point you're better off just auto-generating it with Oblige/Obaddon/Obsidian and running GZDoom

https://doomwiki.org/wiki/ManDoom , last time I checked, is still compatible with Obsidian if you move all of Obsidian's files over (replacing what exists) and rename obsidian.exe to oblige.exe. The downside is that you're stuck with ZDoom and not any of the current incarnations of GZDoom.
