Hello!! I've been a lurker on these forums for some time, but this is my first real post, so apologies in advance if I buggered something up. ANYWAYS, with that outta the way lemme tell you what this is all about.
Omni-Wolf is a mod I've been working on over the last couple days, aiming to bring the simple-yet-engaging gameplay from Wolfenstein 3D to doom engine games. Specifically, the focuses of this mod are:
-Simple gameplay. No fancy guns with reloading or altfires or different ammo types, nope just the 4 weapons found in Wolf3D. For now.
-Multi-IWAD compatibility. Currently, Doom and Heretic, and Hexen are supported, but I'm also considering Hacx and Chex Quest to be added to that list. Not Strife though, cuz screw that.
-Monster mod compatibility. That's right, no new enemies here. You want Nazis to shoot? Go grab Bratwurst or Kriegsland, cuz this here is strictly weapons and items. And BJ himself of course.
Oh, and I should probably mention that I am by no means an experienced coder. In fact, this mod is partially an exercise in getting used to modding as a whole. Many things are borrowed or used as a base, and much of this is done in decorate. I did my best to credit everyone I borrowed from as well as make sure I had permission to do so, but if you see some of your work here used either without credit or permission, then please let me know and I'll fix it pronto.
You're probably familiar with Wolfenstein's arsenal already, but for those curious, here's a lowdown on the weapons. (No images yet, sadly, because I couldn't figure that out.)
Knife: The knife in this mod is significantly more useful than it was in Wolfenstein. It's still silent, does more damage, forces enemies into their pain state, and stabs a lil faster if you don't mind a little carpal tunnel. In short, it went from a metal toothpick to a proper-ass combat knife.
Pistol: The pistol is pretty standard fare. It's semi-auto and the most accurate bullet-shooter you have access to. Very useful for long distance shooting and conserving ammo, which you will most certainly need to be doing.
Machine Gun: Unsurprisingly, this right here is your workhorse. Same damage as the pistol, only a little less accurate and full auto. It's damage and rate of fire make it a very reliable weapon in the vast majority of situations.
Gatling Gun: Ah, the mother of all bullet-hoses. This is your ultimate weapon. Highest fire rate, damage, and spread. Multi-barreled belt-fed war machine. Enough said.
Items:
Spoiler:
The items in this mod are where more deviation happens. Partially because of balance, and partially because of lack of coding knowledge. Anywho, here's what you can expect to find: Ammo:
-Magazine: These neat little blue bullet-holders will give you either +4 or +8 bullets.
-Crate: Big green crates absolutely brimming with ammo. Little misleading since it only gives you +25 bullets.
-Backpack: Fashionable AND functional. +20 bullets and an increase of your ammo limit from 99 to 199.
Health:
-Dogfood: A bowl of dog food. Gives ya a measly +4 HP. At least its not the dry stuff.
-Food: A cold, but still edible meal that gives you +10 HP.
-Health pack: A pack of raw health. +25 points of it, to be exact.
-Supercharge pill: A big ol' pill taken through means you don't wanna know about. Fills your health completely, but not above 100.
Treasure
Collecting shiny shit is fun! Especially since once you've collected 40000 points worth, you'll receive 200 health and 50 bullets!
-Cross: Spiffy lil crucifix. +100 points.
-Chalice: Purely decorative, do NOT try to drink out of it. +500 points.
-Chest: Box packed full of jewels. +1000 points.
-Crown: Not from Burger King, sorry to disappoint. +5000 points.
Powerups
-"One-Up": So it isn't actually a one-up, since there is no lives system. However, it does give you 99 HP up to a max of 200, kinda like the soulsphere. Unlike the soulsphere however, this also gives you 25 bullets! (Finally got it to work!)
-God-Sphere: Basically Doom's invulnerability sphere with gold color mapping.
-Geist-Sphere: Similar to Doom's blur sphere, except it gives you Heretic's shadowsphere effect.
Other game-specific powerups, like the radsuit or wings of wrath, were maintained as-is so as not to break map flow. Plus they didn't really have solid Wolf3D counterparts.
v1.6
-Score system works! Collect 40000 points, and you'll be rewarded for your treasure hoarding.
-Now you can drink some decorative gore objects! This really only applies to doom, but its kind of a novelty mechanic anyways so whatever.
-Wings of Wrath now work properly. Can't believe I missed that.
-Other little touches here and there, most notable being a quick gold screen flash when picking up most items, like the original.
v1.5
-A functioning score system! Or well, functioning in that it works. The points don't do anything yet, but they will.
-Hexen compatibility! Not fully tested, but definitely playable. Will be refined further.
-Some weapon tweaks. Chaingun functions a little better at stun-locking groups, and the pistol can fire quite a bit faster.
-Ammo pack now boosts your ammo reserves to 199 instead of 150.
-Couple new items in the form of dog food and a health pill.
-Tweaked item spawns a bit.
v1.2:
-New hud, courtesy of my gf! It was made using assets from the original Wolf3D, and looks a lot more cohesive.
-New movement system borrowed from JoeyTD's Wolf'en Doom Lite mod!
-New player sprites taken from Wolfendoom.
-Several small balancing changes regarding ammo pickups, weapon damage etc. In general, ammo is a little more plentiful, treasure is rarer, and weapons deal slightly less damage.
-New mugshot taken from Samsara 0.3666.
Oh, and here's a list of known issues/future plans.
Spoiler:
KNOWN ISSUES: -As mentioned, the one-up and god sphere do not give ammo for some reason. Probably fixable, but haven't figured it out yet.
-The Icon of Sin is not yet beatable with this mod, as there are no explosive weapons. However, I have plans to fix that.
-The keys line up kinda weird on the HUD. Doesn't obstruct anything, just looks weird. This is especially evident in Hexen.
FUTURE PLANS:
-More weapons! I figure most people will be a little turned off by the whole "only 4 weapons" thing, so I have plans to work on some little addons to add in more weapons, chiefly the rocket launcher and flamethrower from the Wolf3D ports, but I'm also tossing around the idea of a bolt-action rifle and possibly the spear of destiny. We'll see.
-Implement slurping up decorative gore when at low health. Seems pretty doable, but I don't quite know where to start. I'm sure I'll figure it out though.
-Possibly some reskin addons based on the SOD mission packs or MAC and Jaguar ports. That'll be easy, but its low priority.
-I wanna clean up the mugshot, particularly I wanna make BJ grin when grabbing the chaingun.

Soooo...Wolf3D weapons for Doom. Awesome! All the weapons feel pretty accurate to their Wolf3D counterparts, if not a tad on the over-powered side of the spectrum. I assume this is to account for balancing purposes when facing off against beefier enemies. I do have one minor nitpick in regards to the movement speed though, as it currently feels a bit too fast. Granted, I'm sure the intended play is to have auto-run turned off, but I feel like a nice middle ground can be achieved here. Could be that the friction needs to be upped, but hard to place my finger on what exactly feels off. Maybe consider how movement is handled here? viewtopic.php?f=43&t=70666

Glad you like it! Yeah, that's pretty much why they're so strong, particularly when using monster mods. Still tweaking damage values, so we'll see if I can figure out a more effective way of balancing them.
As for the movement, the current system is literally just nashmove with a higher player speed. This also means it still has that weird effect where the player's speed skyrockets whenever they take damage. I'll take a look at that mod's movement system and see what I can do!
If you can wait a few days I'll be posting a newer build of my wolf mod with a improved wolfenmovement system. (thank lewisk3 for that) which you can use for your mod.

Oh fantastic! That'd be much appreciated, I'll be sure to update the credits accordingly

Oh damn! I tried checking the thread and the wolfhell.wad file itself for something regarding permission/credits for the hud, but I will admit I completely missed that text file somehow. I may have accidentally deleted it. I'll remove the download for the time being until I can either get express permission or make a new hud completely. Terribly sorry about that, this was the exact sort of thing I was trying to avoid.
EDIT to avoid double posting: The download link shall be restored sometime in the next couple days, once I finish this new update. Its gonna come with a few new things, primarily a brand new hud based off the original Wolf3D status bar, as well as Hexen compatibility, new player sprites, and an overhauled movement system borrowed from JoeyTD's Wolf'en Doom Lite mod. Stay tuned.
Ok, I know I just said I wouldn't double post BUT the mod has been updated! All assets taken from CeeJay's mod have been removed, and replaced with either original(-ish) assets or ones more publicly available. There have also been numerous balancing changes, as well as that new movement system! Next update should have the meaty stuff, like Hexen compatibility and maybe some new mechanics, but for now, get psyched and check it out: https://www.mediafire.com/file/mds1ewbv ... 2.pk3/file
Ok! Another update! This time I'm bringing a more or less functional score system, Hexen compatibility, and a couple new items. The treasure no longer gives you health, and now actually gives you points, though these aren't good for anything really. I'm planning on making it so you get 200 health and some ammo when you get 40000 points BUT I haven't figured that out yet. Either way enjoy, and feel free to toss some feedback or suggestions my way.https://www.mediafire.com/file/e6i3ln9u ... 6.pk3/file
EDIT: Just uploaded a hotfix/mini-update. This should fix an issue I ran into where the wings of wrath would not work properly due to the custom movement system. Seems to be fixed now. Oh! And the points have worth now! Get 40000 of them, and you'll get 200 health and 50 bullets! You can also drink some decorative blood objects when below 11 health, for a measly 1 HP, just like the original Wolf3D. Check it out!
