"Hmm, i have a feeling i've already seen this exact mod before somewhere else without the weird title, haven't i?" You may be asking yourself... And... Well, honestly that is pretty much the point.
Happy 10 Years of Reelism, everybody! Have you ever noticed that Reelism is starting to get pretty old and dusty and... Whatever adjective that also means "old" goes? Well, haha... YOU CERTAINLY AREN'T the only one who took note of it! This mod tries it's best at doing what it sets out to do: Remaster and Polish Reelism 1 to be more fun and intuitive to play.
What is New and what's Changed? Uuuuhhh, basically, a lot. If you've been paying attention to my Twitter or the ZDoom Discord, you'd know. But here's a list, anyhoo.
Spoiler: A gigantic shopping list of changes ahead.
WEAPONS:
Most weapons in the original got small visual and audible changes, like the Pistol, Shotgun, Super Shotgun, Pretty much all Wolf3D Weapons... and so on.
Weapons were re-balanced and tweaked to be a bit more useful and have situational usage.
Some weapons, like the Angst Bots, were swapped in place of better and more suitable Super-Weapons, like the BFG2704.
There ARE a few cases where weapons are entirely deleted for being redudant and shitty to use, like the Retro Luger.
MONSTERS:
Some Hitscan Monsters now use Tracers, ala. Reelism 2. The tracers are slower and do less damage, though.
While bosses don't have changes YET, it's just a matter of time before they do.
Bob now drops a Dual Pistol that appears in the new set of Reels made exclusively for the Remaster.
Some Monsters, like the Wolfenstein Natzees, now have much better sound quality.
MAPS:
Gutrot Island received some small visual updates and Detail to make the whole thing feel... Uh, let's say: More Lively than Before? Like the small park that you see at your very right at the start of the level, or the destroyed establishment at your Left. You can even go in there if you are cocky enough!
The Internet Machine also got some small changes, like small waterpools where it would otherwise be your demise... Hey, that rhymed! And a second home at the further length of the level... Aaaand there is also a bit of parkour to that "!" Shaped Platform so you don't need to use the Pogo Stick and all that.
As i stated on my Twitter, some ungodly long levels that take FOREVER to find the boss in are either gonna be changed entirely, or wiped from the mod and replaced with something else.
Gothic's Motherboard was ported to the mod.
ITEMs...?:
Uh... There is a new item that has a 50% chance of replacing the normal Pogo Sticks...
REELS:
(GLOBAL EFFECT) ???: I'm not revealing what it is just yet. You have to find it out yourself...
(WEAPON SPAWNER) Guns Akimbo!: Originally planned to be in the original mod, it never came to fruition, but it was restored with a few well known Dual-Wielding weapons. The WSTE-M5s, Tommy Guns, and... EVEN A FUCKING NAPALM LAUNCHER?! But that's a Superweapon.
(MONSTER SPAWNER) ???: I'm not revealing what it is just yet. You have to find it out yourself...

- Lots, LOTS of fixes.
- The "Electron DiscombuUSF838@$$###ne-)))" can now be fixed with the GCNK.
- 19-19-19 now properly works.
- Some more sprites were updated.
- A few weapons were fixed.
- The Cowboys from "Outlaws" now use Tracers. they are usually inacurrate, only
exception is the Rifler.

- Bossrush was completely fixed... Probably.
- "The Internet Machine" now has it's very own music! Waa-hey!
- A new type of tracer that's probably more fair to fight against was added.
FastProjectile is a bitch.
- Bossrush Weapon Pool was updated yet again.
- The "Blau!" reel had a pickup removed for being a tad redundant.
- The Javelin was updated to be... A bit more interesting.

- Bossrush was finally fixed.
- The Revolver was buffed.
- The GOU-7 Minigun was buffed.
- The Anime GORLS were nerfed. (And thank god they were.)
- The Blue Cultists now shoot Telsa instead of... Y'know. Lightning.
- 444 Jackpot is no longer aaa Jackass, Free BFGS!
- Bossrush Weapon pool was updated.
- (Unimplemented) New music for "The Internet Machine"
- New Titlemap.
- Flamethrower's Airblast was Improved.

Funny I was thinking about how much Reelism 2 blew the original so much that it's almost redundant. This remaster is legit needed! Couple of questions. 1, any plans to have a HUD similar to 2?
2, Has there been considerations to change some of the levels to avoid the issues with wasting time finding boss rooms? Some of the levels were admittedly a bit too big.
Looks promising. While i think REELism 1 has superior variety than the sequel(granted, it's still being worked on but we'll see), it also has certain issues that are just hard to bear. As a person who still loves the series, you're doing the right thing!
There was a Small freak-accident involving the Napalm Launcher. It was too ludicrous for it's own good, and also i decided to fix the damn Language file too.

This is unlikely to happen on the engine side, especially not the Spread Rune. Now, if some enterprising individual wants to try to implement it in ZScript, maybe...

Sadly, no. Not yet. You are better off just using Zandronum for now, besides the fact that Reelism 1 was already sorta designed to be multiplayer-friendly, you are probably gonna need to be patient until the part that's GZ's fault is either fixed or there is a patch that piggy-backs off ZScript, like Weasel mentioned. But on the topic at hand, tomorrow i'll see what i can try to do to fix a LOT of Balancing problems in Reelism... Specially that damn Anime Jackpot... Goodlord... And maybe try to see what's going on with Bossrush?
