Any details on this picture?

A more close-up version of this (just showing the face) was used on the box art for the off-the-shelf version of The Ultimate Doom and I've seen the following advert posted in a few places.



Doe anyone know anything about this? How it was made? Are there more angles, pictures showing more of the figure etc? It doesn't look like the usual baron character (less muscly for starters) and is, perhaps, meant to look like the characters on the original Doom box art but it is clearly a newer/alternative rendering.

I'm not an image expert, but this image looks like somebody took a blurry silhouette of a dude's arm and shoulder, copy-pasted the demon head and draw the claws. The brightness on the arm and the head doesn't quite match, the proportions are off - the head is too big and it's sitting too low. Also, look at the claws. The image is blurry, however, the edges of the nails are clearly defined. There is no claw on the thumb.

Yup, that all makes sense. I guess it still leaves my questions open about the original head model/mask/whatever but you're right; it does look like a composite photograph.
