Hopefully they won't hype it to the moon and come out with a below average card this time around.
Wonder if they'll still use some of the PowerVR patents they've held before for the GMA series. Intel HD does have some PowerVRisms still (16-bit post dither makes it good for stubborn 16bpp 3d games)

I'll believe it when I see it.
Also - using TSMC as manufacturer? Now there's a new monopoly being erected...

I've known about this for a while, and honestly with what I've been able to get out of a NUC6i7kyk (which uses Iris Pro 580 as it's iGPU) it'd be interesting to see a discrete card from Intel.
now if only their software department wasn't a absolute disaster!!!

"Alchemist", "Battlemage", "Celestial", "Druid"... Those sure are some codenames.

Yeap.Graf Zahl wrote:I'll believe it when I see it.
Serious doubt Intel will succeed - didn't they already try this some 20yrs ago and shelved their idea? I don't doubt they're capable of making competent hardware, but drivers, however, after the disaster their integrated drivers had the tendency to be? "I'll believe it when I see it."
