(WIP) Retroninjacyberassassin - Beat 'Em Up/Hack N' Slash TC

Hello!
I'm working on a hilarious standalone beat 'em up/hack n' slash IWAD game called Retroninjacyberassassin.

Current Features
  • 7 Levels and a Tutorial, Spread Across 10 Maps. Linear beginning gives way to more open world gameplay, allowing for backtracking and even replaying of certain areas
  • Several Melee Weapons and Attacks, with alternates: punch/kick, shurikens (that can be picked up after being thrown, even by an enemy!), nunchucks, a katana, a wrench, and the dreaded hashishin
  • Destructible Environmental Sprites That Drop Loot
  • An Assortment of Enemies to Kill: Security Guards, Stick Ninjas, Helpless Janitors, All Three Sewn Together, and Slugs
  • Currency System with NPC Transactions
  • NPC assigned (side) missions/quests
  • Secrets, Collectibles, and Easter Eggs

So... I was crazy enough to beat this TC although i had to activate sv_cheats 1 and god mode because Ninjas somewhat insta-kill you. This is ludicrous and yet it's so hilarious, in a good way.

So thoroughly honored, the experience you describe is almost exactly what I'm hoping people have! If the ninjas are giving you trouble use the katana to block, and the shuriken alt fire for a quick kill.

Many thanks for the kind wishes!

I just hotfixed the buggy option menus and nerfed the shurikens a bit, they should be slightly easier to dodge now. Easy has also been tweaked a little to fit better between very easy and normal.

I just started on a system called Karma, it functions as a mixture of experience points and armor.

It blocks 50% of damage and is attained through some of the npc assigned quests, but depletes in combat like armor.
