War Thunder - Because it's so grindy and too much P2W anywhere, i would like to fly some of the Nam aircraft, but no i can't. So i'm better wait for a Birds of Steel (or Wings of Prey) sequel that is always focus on the Offline Single-Player and Co-Op includes anything from War Thunder and more simplified like Blazing Angels and Ace Combat
Re: What's a game you don't play for a stupid reason?
P2W is really not a stupid reason for not playing a game, in my opinion. The stupidity is that it even exists to begin with.

I didn't play any of Doom Eternal's expansions because the lore got too goofy.

I am stopped playing some mobile games that made by Tencent (especially) because crazy mission/task list, and too much reward to redeem.
As well as need to spend "energy" before start playing (imagine if I'm ran out of "energy" within 5-10 minutes).

Deus Ex: Human Revolution
I was being rushed, over intercom, to get to the boss's office while I was wanting to speak to all the characters just after the start, and got scolded for taking too long.
Fuck me for exploring, right?
So I uninstalled.

I hate it when games do that. I almost quit Half Life the first time I played it because everyone was telling me off for being late, not getting to the test chamber quickly and that the experiment couldn't start without me. OK, great, Gordon Freeman may have worked there for years but I haven't and a) I don't know the way & b) I want to explore.
So many games try to rush you with NPCs, or radio messages, or something to make it sound like the task that you are doing is urgent. And that's fine if it actually is urgent and is time limited in some way - but most of the time it's just window dressing and the various encouragements for you to do things quickly can happily be ignored.
In Doom3, the first time you meet Sarge, he always greets you with "took your sweet time marine" - no matter how quickly (or slowly) you rush to meet him. In fact, the characteristic way he says that line has actually become something that we say in our house when someone does something that may delay the rest of the family somehow - but only when it's a mild inconvenience. Like, yesterday, I was going out for a walk with my daughter and she said "just let me get my boots on." Only a couple of minutes later she was suitably booted, but that didn't stop me saying "took your sweet time marine" as we left the house.

There's also that tonality of "SO DONT LOSE IT" like doomguy's lost their pda before.
I think Shogo tried to chew you out harder for being late at the start?

The admiral doesn't really say much else differently but what I do remember is the "Now get out of my sight!" that isn't even yelled, just kinda snappy sounding.leileilol wrote:I think Shogo tried to chew you out harder for being late at the start?
Granted there's like, a trove of unused stuff in Shogo I'm sure you're probably aware of!

Jrpg's without voice acting, because my mind wanders when you have to read text for at least 20 hours.
