What's going on in the Doom world these days?

Old-timer here, can't remember the last time I posted on these forums. Lots of fond memories of Doom from middle/high school but I kind of lost track during college. It's been almost a decade since then so I'm well out of the loop when it comes to (classic) Doom and especially the ZDoom community. (Doom 2016 and Eternal kicked ass but that's all I've been playing recently.)

How is the classic Doom community? Is there new blood coming in or is it all slowly dying?

Definitely new blood coming in, Doom '16 and Doom Eternal are part of that I imagine. 90's-style FPSes are kinda "in" right now with games like Dusk, Ultrakill, Ion Fury, and Amid Evil. Karl Jobst covers speedrunners like Looper, Zero Master, and 4shockblast and gets millions of views. Decino and to a lesser extent Dwars have a decent platform playing vanilla and Boom compatible wads while IcarusLives gives ZDoom mods a good deal of attention, with views often in the tens or hundreds of thousands. Modern projects like Eviternity, Adventures of Square, and Blade of Agony (recent developments aside) have received attention from gaming press. If you ask me the Doom scene hasn't looked this good in a long time.

EDIT: Also, not sure if you've heard but DoomScript has been a thing for a few years now, rebranded as "ZScript."
