[V1.1!] Twilight Zoner

Post by Sgt. Shivers »

Hi! I recently played through the Twilight Zone 2 by Paul Corfiatis and really enjoyed it. I wanted to play through it again, so I put together this weapon set in a week. It tweaks the weapons a little but they're mostly the same.

Download it here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1OrlXD2 ... sp=sharing

Quick bug report:
The tracers of bfg equivalent can move decorations
Actually scratch that, all the weapons can move decoration

The sprite work for this mod is stellar.

Which decorations are moving when hit? I just tested it out and objects didn't move at all.

I'm not seeing this either - and I don't see anything obvious in the code. Could it be that you have another mod loaded that makes decorations shootable?

Ok i checked, it seems that it's maybe the pillars?
Like all of them to be exact seem to be responding to receiving damage, my load order was DOOMTest, this mod and twilight zone 2. also one of the stalagmite seem to explode like a barrel

i checked these in doom test by the way, at least we know that it ins't all of them just the pillars it seems.

OK, this is nothing to do with this mod but it's actually the original Twilight Zone II mod. It has a dehacked lump that changes some of the decorations. Even without this mode loaded, load up Twilight Zone II, give yourself a BFG and fire it somewhere that there are pillars.

Twilight Zone 2... So this is a mod based on said map pack? I actually expected the actual tv show with the same name, but that works too! Anyway this weapon mod goes simply, yet nicely. I especially love the special effects and the Drill! Definitely mind-piercing.

Speaking of Drill, its flesh hit sound effect gets buried by the windup sound, and the Rocket and Ethereal ball leave no decal.

It would be a good idea to add a Parry or guard to the fist replacement, If anyone is in favor of this notion, say "I".

The mod has been updated with a few tweaks. I can't remember exactly what they were I just found there was a 1.1 version on my hard drive. Probably decals and stuff.

Is the Power Shotgun supposed to keep raising your view as you keep firing it? When I'm playing without freelook, it's tiresome to have to keep pressing the "center view" key after using it. I feel like there may be a minimod out there somewhere that would re-center automatically, but I wouldn't really know where to look for it.

Do you plan on adding this weapon set to Final Doomer? Or expanding Twilight Zoner with more weapon sets?

Good catch, I didn't notice that. The file has been updated with the fix.

Possibly. I was considering merging Eternal Doomer and Twilight Zoner into Final Doomer if Yholl and I ever do another update for that mod.

You don't even have to load a mod for it. Type

Code: Select all

maxviewpitch 0
in console. Just don't forget to bring it back to maxviewpitch 90 or whatever when you want freelook again.
