Death animation and palette swap of the Authority (The Virtue). I'm gonna use her as a placeholder for the baron until I can come up with a better idea for the baron replacement. Since the hell knight is a palette swap of the baron, it kinda works.

I like that there are multiple gruesome stages to it, much more interesting than the standard doom1.wad type backward flop, and I am surprised now that I haven't seen more decapitation blood fountains in this sort of thing, although it is unclear what force has suddenly caused the sword to rapidly chop like that.

oh beans another of these weirdos.

not quite what I want out of it yet, but I will have a better idea once I have seen it actually in a level, and I intend to translate the colors to have more subtle differences. I like it better than the 2003 version whatever the case:

Its attacks styles I am not totally sure about since the 2003 one is bland and needed to fit in with an arch-vile-type blast because that is the best option I had back then!

You know, I got to thinking and realised that it was worth redoing the plasmagun to fit in the slayer's legacy pack after all...

this one's based on the sgt. shivers doom eternal plasser, with a bit of that other plasmagun thrown in around the muzzle and rear for good measure... ;)

I like your character alot. I'm getting a real "Toejam and Earl" vibe from her. How'd you get it so smooth?

The Virtue hand is blown off which causes her own sword to decapitate her. The frame's aren't played at the correct speed so the hand animation is kinda hard to see.
Also here's that shirtless doomguy I mentioned a few pages ago.
Love the Contra Doomguy. Why hasn't someone done this before. It's amazing.

Thank you! I used to think the project was hopeless, but being able to make the characters more lively with high resolution and extra animation has increased its potential.

thank you for thinking it works! For a long time I was worried about this creature being uninteresting.

I use a program called aseprite that lets me separate things into layers and frames, and has an "onion skin" mode that can show multiple frames at once, which makes plotting movements, and inserting in-between frames (such as when redrawing and updating old sequences) more intuitive. I have Z and C set to go forward and back frames, S and X to go up and down layers, so my left hand can quickly jump between them while my right hand makes corrections. A lot of experience also helps. I also have shift-z and shift-x for jumping forward and backward on the palette. The default keys for this I think are 0 and 9 and I never used that except by accident and I hated it.
