He's truly irreplaceable. He's left a heck of a legacy... and 90 years is a long time.

One of the film industries greats.
Along with Kirk Douglas earlier this year, the industry is running low on actors that achieved their legacy by sheer acting talent - and with less reliance on green screens.

Lots and lots of brilliant and unforgettable movie sequences by this great actor... But this part from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade is my favourite for sure:
Farewell, dear Sean Connery...

Some of his films are unforgettable for the wrong reasons:

I maintain, incidentally, that The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen was a great movie and would have been much lesser without Connery involved.
Re: Sean Connery dies at age 90
I wouldn't go as far as "great" but I did enjoy it. I certainly agree that Connery lifted it (and perhaps even carried it). I think it was his last film?

he hated making it so much that he quit the film business altogether
Re: Sean Connery dies at age 90
Certainly he is reputed to have said that his reason for retiring was "idiots making films in Hollywood these days" (or something very similar) but I don't know if that was specifically in reference to this film, or whether he was just being a grumpy old Scot justifying his retirement by taking a swipe at someone. The Scots do grumpy very well.

Well, it's terribly depressing that Sean Connery has passed. He really had an iconic legacy of great films.
Zardoz is definitely not one of them though...

It was his last film, he hated it and he still did a fine job. I really enjoyed that movie too, very underrated.yaboi wrote:he hated making it so much that he quit the film business altogetherEnjay wrote:I wouldn't go as far as "great" but I did enjoy it.
