Heretic 2 assets for Gzdoom?

Post by Kagur »

For the purpose of creating a possible Heretic 2 mod for Gzdoom Heretic using its 3d assets, I looked up this thread:

viewtopic.php?f=4&t=21102

I'm aware of the .fm files and their storage in the PAK files as well as view them on Quark, but I'm not able to export them and import them in Blender or use them in Gzdoom. Has anyone successfully managed to attempt this. I have seen a few mods here and there featuring 3d models from Hexen 2, but never anything from Heretic 2.

Heretic II's model and skin files can be opened and converted with Noesis. Here is the models/player/elf model with the first skin, converted to md3 and png, as an example.

Can confirm, working like a charm: https://i.imgur.com/6Jpp1cj.png
Use -vertbones Noesis parameter if you want to export animation to FBX for further 3d software editing, or convert directly to md3

Sorry to bump this thread back up again, but would anyone know where the power up shrines are stored?

I searched them up in the maps (bsp files) and model folders and surprisingly couldn't find anything.
