There seems to be a memory leak of some sort, I've been playing the mod with the vanilla maps and I noticed that the fps would be smooth initially and drop to like 30-ish after several minutes.

Could you please elaborate on this? I've been playing on a map pack myself and I don't see any problems. Are you in a complex map? Try turning off details like "blood stays", "gibs stay", "shadows", "bullet casings stay" etc...

I was playing on the regular doom1 iwad and then doom2, the only other mods I had were wartrophies (weapon stats tracker), target spy and Tekish's hitmarkers, mostly mods of the cosmetic sort.

edit: I tried it again without the other mods and the results are still the same, I'm using the latest version of LZDoom if that helps.

I use GZDoom, since this mod is most compatible with it. It's possible LZDoom could be behind this, since I doubt your PC would be at fault. I can't really see anything in the ZScript that could cause a potential memory leak.

After more playthroughs I simply turned off rendering interpolation and the frame drops are no longer a issue, I very much like the "Build-isms" this mod offers, thank you for your hardwork and I hope more updates will come in the future!

Added a new add-on by Whoah to the OP. This one replaces most of the weapon sounds with ones from vanilla Doom. It's more obvious on the Alternative loadout.

EDIT: Another add-on by Whoah! This one adds sounds from the Build Engine games. Might help to give the game a more Buildier feel.

This request might sound a bit silly, but is there a way to make a "create a class" with the two classes? The above update is actually great imo since I miss the normal shotgun guys.

You mean an "alternative skin" replacer option for the shotgun guy? While it sounds very nitpicky, it sounds like a good idea anyways since a few people don't seem to like palette swap zombies.

Oh no. I meant maybe having the option to swap weapons between the Classic and Alternate player classes to make a custom class. I might make a custom mod for myself having the first four weapons of the alternate class and weapons 5 and after still being the classic weapons.

Right, I've had this suggestion before. If I can pull it off then it'll take less time to start up a new game :)

  • Fixed Heavy Weapon Dude's replacement option
  • Fixed boss enemies not activating action specials
  • Optimized code
