[Textures] Chill manor

Post by neoworm »

I stumbled upon a game called Chill Manor and it had pretty nice textures that would fit HeXen pretty well. Lurking on the internet I found rip of almost all graphics on textures-resource.com (courtesy of Glutko). So I cut them out, sorted out some less useful and cartoony ones, done few edits and threw it all into a pk3 for use in GZDooM. There will be few more textures coming later and also some edits to better fit GZDooM engine.
I defined some animations and switches and used some sounds from the game for them.
The game contains lot of textures of framed paintings on walls, I cut all of them out and defined them as decals. There is 160+ of them in the end. I just have trouble in getting the randomized decalgroups working. They can also be composited into textures for some crazy huge galery.
I also cut out some weapons, banners and other details from wall textures to be used as decals, in composites or in custom edits.

All graphics are in trucolor png, but I will probably reduce the colors once I reconstruct the game's palette.

These are great! Thanks for sharing, very useful for mansion-type levels or maybe evne for the Heretic/Hexen games

Fun fact: Chill Manor is the sequel to IM Meen! :p I always thought the textures in this one were pretty nice, so it's good to see them get uploaded. The weapon and monster sprites are also pretty nice, but I'm not sure if anyone has extracted them yet.

I have stuff from IM Meen too, but it uses only 64x64 textures with more pronounced stylization, meaning that it will be harder to adapt to Doom to look good. I used some sounds from IM Meen already.

Perhaps this might be another game worth making a texture pack about, if the resources are available.

decoration decals are really nice medieval weapons. And the switches make me want to make some map.
