[RESOURCE] Disruptor Texture Pack

So, while Disruptor was ripped some time ago, the textures in their entirety were never available because the only uploads involved rips of the game's unsorted 32x32 tiles. For at least 10 years I've sought to assemble them but only now I've gotten around to it, a truly harrowing and annoying process that took months, no wonder nobody else has bothered to do it beforehand. That said, these textures are great and offer a wide variety of themes and colors, including a large number of purple textures, a color rarely seen in Doom. Themes range from techbases of various kinds to alien ruins to Egyptian temples to icy canyons, and more. Here is a quick preview image I made, showcasing some of the 817 textures available here:

Due to the fact Disruptor uses 3D maps akin to Quake, the way some of the textures work in that game cannot really be reliably recreated in Doom: the versions I offer are I think both the closest in faithfulness to the original title, as well as the easiest ones to use in Doom Builder. The pack I provide to you is ready to be used in your maps by just loading it as a resource in Doom Builder, although it doesn't have ANIMDEFS: this can easily be created by modders so that they can choose whatever tic speed they want for the animated flats and switched and so on. Besides being a mapping-ready resource, this pack also provides Disruptor textures in a format that can be further edited for anyone who may want to have more variants of these textures or what have you.

Thanks for doing this. It sounds like it was a real pain but there are some very nice textures in there. :yup:

I'm not sure how this happened, but there are two copies of DSBTX02.PNG in the Mission11 folder. i.e. they have exactly the same file name. They seem to be the same graphic except that one of the copies has a stray row of transparent pixels at the bottom making it 321 pixels tall whereas the other one is 320.

My bad, I noticed that texture was glitched with the single row of transparent pixels so I replaced it but it seems I forgot to remove the old one. Updated it, thanks very much! And yeah, creating this was an absolute pain, but the end result is well worth it, I think this was the last remaining classic FPS with unavailable textures so I'm glad this one's off the list :) With sprites, sounds and everything else also available, maybe a Disruptor TC could happen somewhere down the line.

Aaah good good, here we get another Dynamo piece of cake. Thanks a bunch for these, I may consider to build up a pack for Realm667 with brightmaps one day, very good looking stuff.

I would very much appreciate that :D and I would also hope the Cybermage pack on that website gets finally approved: you did such a good job on it, it would be extremely useful for modders, and yet it's sitting in limbo...

Yes also that too, I still have it in my dropbox, just need to implement TEXTURES and scale accordingly to what should be a conventional size format for textures... Btw please use a different host, Mediafire likes to drop on Pokerstars website once I download the item, better choose for Googledrive, Dropbox or Mega. Just saying, nothing dramatic :)

Definitely looking forward to that! Even Lost Civilization, which got a cacoward, used some of the Cybermage textures from your pack, so it's definitely good to bring more awareness to them. Here's a mega mirror for you :)
