About Raze
I only got some questions about Raze.
1. Whenever I start DUKE3D.GRP the game will start normally but there will be no music
2. Does BloodCM works or what?
that's it

Re: About Raze
I cannot tell you about BloodCM. There's still a few problems with some scripting aspects in modern EDuke mods but if this one is affected I cannot tell you.

Re: About Raze
Why would you run that when you can play actual Blood on Raze?

Re: About Raze
Maybe when Raze become more stable...at least 1.0 release?Phredreeke wrote:Why would you run that when you can play actual Blood on Raze?
But I may not care...I already using dev. builds/snapshots release of ports.
And well, BloodCM was a TC tried to make a Duke TC that close to Blood but it's may not all faithful to the original game, if someone doesn't care this then it won't hurt for just try that.

Re: About Raze
I can't say I have thoroughly tested Blood on Raze - it seems fine from what I can tell.
Considering the last release of BloodCM was in 2016, I wouldn't be surprised if it's not compatible with current EDuke32 much less Raze. Either way it was good for its time but it has since been surpassed by BloodGDX and NBlood.

That's a sad sentiment somehow. Yes, I know that EDuke is having compatibility issues right now - but taking them for granted by just expecting them to be there...Phredreeke wrote:I wouldn't be surprised if it's not compatible with current EDuke32...

Re: About Raze
After checking it does run with current EDuke32 - it even has working ROR in Polymost.
My attempts at running it in Raze all failed though.

What happened? It may be a good project for testing then.

Re: About Raze
This is the error message I got
My attempts at launching have been through copying BloodCM to the Raze directory and running Raze with the -file BloodCM/BloodCM.grp parameters. (the file in question is still there...)Compiling: eduke.con (35 bytes)
eduke.con:1: error: could not find file `BloodCM/blcons/bloodcm.con'.

Re: About Raze
That doesn't work because the mod performs some exceptionally dumb setup with its con files that doesn't work with Raze and is undefined behavior at best even in EDuke - it directly refers to its own directory in its main CON file. So you have to specify the main CON explicitly and override the bogus include:
This command line works: raze -file bloodcm -con blcons/bloodcm.con
I can't say I liked much what I saw, for example the flare gun is just a lame pistol - even ZBlood got that right.

Re: About Raze
Yeah, that's why some in Blood community still think BloodCM just looks not right to them...some even say it was just approximate emulation with some weird design choices but since it's a TC mod so well, whatever.Graf Zahl wrote: I can't say I liked much what I saw, for example the flare gun is just a lame pistol - even ZBlood got that right.
