Hello and sorry if this is in the wrong section.
Basically games like Brutal Hexen/Heretic have a cursor in the RPG menu which seems to be tied to head movement in VR.
I can actually move the cursor left/right with the touch controller but not up/down? I cant figure this out but the theory is to disable the cursor on the head tracking and allocate the cursor to the touch controller.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as its difficult to control the cursor with head tracking.
Thankyou for your time and hope to speak soon.

That may be the problem. Most people do not use these things.ZDL_800 wrote: Anybody got a VR headset and VRDoom?
If Steam's hardware survey can be trusted, only 1% of all users have such a thing, and with a retro game like Doom the likelihood is even less.
Re: Mouse Cursor in DoomVR
Thanks for the reply.
Doom 1/2 in VR is working fine, there's no problems apart from a few weapon sprite edits which I'm working on. Absolutely insane loading up Brutal Doom with all the HD mods and sounds/music mods. Its a religious experience.
The issue is with Brutal Hexen/Heretic with the RPG menu which uses a cursor, I don't see anything online, no forum threads, no videos, it looks to me that I'm the only one or very few who tested Brutal Hexen/Heretic with the ID1 VR engine.
Honestly the ID1 games using the VR engine is the best VR experience, all the Steam VR games just don't cut it.
May I ask, do you know any GZDoom devs who may have a VR headset? Its just the devs may have a clue as to why this occurs?
Thanks again for your time and hope to speak soon.

Re: Mouse Cursor in DoomVR
Given the fact that a modpack is used (Brutal Hexen/Heretic) I would argue that the onus of the issue is there and not in the engine itzef. Especially when you later state that you haven't seen anyone else mention this.ZDL_800 wrote:Hello and sorry if this is in the wrong section.

Have you reached out to the engine author? If so, what did he say of this issue?
If not, i can perhaps assist helping you with this.
Re: Mouse Cursor in DoomVR
Thanks for the reply.
The author hasn't updated the VR engine or replied on the thread for over a year. Here's the link. Its a shame because its such a great mod. Cant imagine the amount of work to create this VR engine.
https://github.com/Fishbiter/gz3doom/releases
Its not a problem with the engine, because it was designed for Doom1/2 which has no ingame cursor for any menus.
I believe we may need to somehow remove the cursor from Brutal Hexen and allocate new menu keys ie menu up/down which are not in the customize control options? I'm not too sure the best method here, any help would be greatly appreciated as the cursor in VR breaks the entire game.
Thanks again.

Tried the original author's mail, since Fishbiter forked it?ZDL_800 wrote:Thanks for the reply.

Re: Mouse Cursor in DoomVR
Hello and thanks for the reply.
Thanks for the link, going to contact the devs and hopefully may get some clues as to how to fix this issue.
The problem is, the mouse input is tied to head movement and the left controller, if I could remove the cursor from the Brutal Hexen mod and navigate the menus with the arrow keys it would fix the issue.
