The WIP Thread
Re: The WIP Thread
DUDE, YES!!! This is shaping up to be one of the coolest things ever! Does it just lift and move things, or does it have offensive capabilities as well? Not that the absence of such things would make it any less cool or anything.
Re: The WIP Thread
I kind of want to make it damage monsters if you throw them into walls or other monsters. Otherwise it'll be a great infighting generator, and allow you to position monsters for efficient area effect weapons.
In that case it'd be a chainsaw replacement, but I might also give it a damaging chain lightning mode and use it as a plasma rifle replacement.

Oh. My. Goodness. That seems soooo fun to use.
A question though, will it be able to catch projectiles mid-flight and hurl them back at the enemies? Doom 3's grabber style?

Hehe... that's the best gravity gun I've seen yet, with the grabbing effect and all!kodi wrote:https://streamable.com/0hq7g
Closer and closer to being finished with the gravity gun!
Credits to 3saster and accensus for help with this.
Re: The WIP Thread
Thank you both!
I'm not sure if grabbing projectiles will work well. I don't think I can find them with a linetrace since they've no blockmap. Thinker iteration would probably be too slow. Perhaps it could be done by spawning and hovering an invisible actor that passively catches projectiles?

Despite GTA2 maps being quite simple by design, it definitely takes some work converting them for Doom. So many 64x64 squares.

Re: The WIP Thread
Neither do I but I like it. Looks a bit like golden souls or Gex. Just with more LSD.
Re: The WIP Thread
we need a full Commander Keen 3D total conversion. It's long overdue.
