Wow, you sir have sharp eyes. The red pixels are now removed and file is updated.

Also, colored blood is something i will add in the future. ;)

While sorting things out to the next update, i was wondering about something: would it be acceptable to include the Skulltag railgun into the mod? Sonik.o.Fan did this beautiful angled version that i almost included in mod since day one, but removed as soon as i realized that at least for the first releases, Doom's default arsenal would be enough. I really wanted to add this, but first, let's hear what you guys think. Should it be part of Doomguy's arsenal in the next update?

Depends if you wanna preserve the default aspect of the mod. But it is your mod, and more weapons equals more fun, so I'd say go right ahead. The sprite doesn't look too bad either.
Also, I appreciate the tweak to the pistol-hand sprite :)

Perhaps make it an optional thing, either via options menu or just a separate download for a weapon set including the railgun (and perhaps a couple new weapons just to make the extra download worth it?).

I like that idea, a separate download would give me more creative freedom without compromise the main objective of the mod. If people want more content beyond the pure vanilla gameplay, they can use the add-on.

Next, you could do several off-shoots of the mod. Focusing on different weapon themes and such while keeping the weapons angled.

You can also do a modern game play mod with reloads...

Several addons would surely be fun to do. The possibilities are literally endless. Of course, i can't deviate too much from the Angled Doom main idea while doing these addons or else it will be better to start brand new projects. I did reload mods in the past, most of them were never released and lay dormant at my hard drive. I'm not sure how this format would go along the idea of Angled Doom - even if as optional addons - but i could try in the future. What i can say for sure is that i have one main addon planned on my mind for as soon as AD reaches the 1.0 release. Let's keep it a secret for now.

Also, some screenshots to tease new visual additions.

As you can see, special effects such as trails and colored blood are now a thing.

New version available at the first post! Added lots of new lights, visual effects and a new difficulty settings called Ultra-Violence +, which is basically Nightmare but without respawns. I hope you guys enjoy playing it.

Something about perspective tells me the weapon sprites are positioned a little too left to center and should be moved a little more to the right.

I gave it a try and.... Seeing doom weapons like that just feels wrong to me.
I'm not saying it's a bad mod, I was thinking of actually making something similar at some point.
And the eye candy stuff like the bfg explosion particles or casings do look pretty nice.
But I have one little thing I personally think would be better:
Changing the shotgun pump / super shotgun reload animations.
Seeing the weapons go from right side to left side of the screen with every pull of the trigger looks very off.
I remember I once saw osjclatchford make a right sided shotgun pump animation based on the Duke3d shotgun, maybe that would work.
Either way, it's a pretty neat mod.

Noted. Going to work on that for the next release.

Now, one of the guys from here called BROS_ETT_311 sent me some real nice right sided shotgun and Super Shotgun reload animations via PM, but since i already was implementing a lot of stuff in this version, i left them out of 0.3 so i wouldn't lost focus. I promise that they'll be added in the next update.

Also, i'm also starting to sort out some new resources for the first Angled Doom add-on!

My humble critique is for the Super Shotgun to look more two-handed and less one-handed. But that's just me. Maybe some prefer it that way, I dunno. :P

EDIT: I forgot to mention, the Shotgun looks a wee bit tilted and it doesn't look as organic as some of the other weapons.

All-in-all tho, cool concept. Awesome mod, maybe this combined with Nash's Gore Mod will equal "What if Doom was made for the Build Engine?" :D

Thank you for your feedback!

I choose to make it two handed to stay true to the original. If you look really closely, you can see some of Doomguy's arm in the lower left corner of the first SSG frame. Also, because although it is a sawed-off, it still has the full stock on the back, so the two handed grip would be better to shoot IMO.

About the regular shotgun, i'll probably add the one made by Denis Belmondo soon.

I believe he may mean that he would like the hand on the SSG to be more visible, so it looks MORE two-handed

EDIT: viewtopic.php?f=43&t=31537 This small mod made by zirius1994 seems to have some pretty good angled SSG sprites, though I'm unsure if he made them himself

Ooops, my bad. You're right.

Sorry 'bout the wrong answer TheEternalStruggler

EDIT - I'll be taking care of that on the next release. Now that you guys said it, the foregrip hand could really appear a little bit more.

EDIT 2 - Here's the new version of the shotgun. I want to apologize again. Don't wanna look like i'm not paying enough attention to the feedbacks, but it's past midnight here and i'm feeling sleepy already...
