Contrary to popular belief, we are not all-knowing-all-seeing magical beings!
If you want help you're going to have to provide lots of info. Like what is your hardware, what is your operating system, what version of GZDoom/LZDoom/whatever you're using, what mods you're loading, how you're loading it, what you've already tried for fixing the problem, and anything else that is even remotely relevant to the problem.
We can't magically figure out what it is if you're going to be vague, and if we feel like you're just wasting our time with guessing games we will act like that's what you're really doing and won't help you.

[g4.2.0] Save failed!
GZdoom g4.2.0 can't save game! It writes "Save failed". Regardless of whether I play with or without modifications.
Re: [g4.2.0] Save failed!
As far as issues that are so vague we can't even help you, this qualifies as one of the top ones. No system info, no information about how your GZDoom is set up ... nothing...

He's trying to save in a folder without write permissions, owned by a different user. I guess.

Just "guessing" what is wrong really does not help anyone here.
The old adage "help us help you" applies here. If you aren't forthcoming with the necessary information, no one can help you.
Plus, I am fairly certain you are not even correct, drfrag, because GZDoom redirects the save folder to a different location if it cannot use the current one.
