Spooky House was an unfinished experimental horror mod by FireWolf that w]as originally being worked on back in the days of Skulltag. It quietly died off and was never heard from again but some of it's assets were reused for WhoDunIt. The mod always intrigued me and out of nowhere I found myself using wayback machine for the ST forums and viewing the threads it had on Doomworld and ZDoom. With this along with various knowledge I had from way back then, I took it upon myself to try and recreate the map that once was. I was thinking of using it for another mod entirely before it mutated into it's own separate thing. I have very little finished so far but considering the main priority is the map, You can expect some updates here and there.
I would have contacted FireWolf to see if he still had his old files for the map and whatnot but he has, for the most part seemingly disappeared from the Doom community and is near-impossible to reach out to online in general. (I've tried)

I'm gonna love this! Horror stuff feels slightly uncommon in the Doom modding scene. (Hopefully it's just me not going far enough to find stuff.)

Horror projects are very common in my experience. Finished or good horror projects, much less so I've done a few myself, all of which basically amounted to a few highly-detailed dark rooms with dynamic lights and grungy textures.
Such projects seem to enjoy much more success when they have a significant "crossover" appeal to semi-traditional dooming and/or a strong theme, and aren't just "some generic spoopy levels".
