A bug with portals
This bug has appeared since version 3.7, and on some maps there is no such thing (sort of). I don’t know what else to add besides video.
My Specs:
- Dell Vostro 3568
- Win 10 64-bit
- Intel Core i3-6006U
- intel HD Graphics 520
- AMD Radeon R5 M420

All I can say is - portals work just fine for me! With no example wad there's no way to tell what's wrong.

Re: A bug with portals
This thing is strange, I tried to make a map with an example of the same geometry and skybox, but this time I didn’t have anything like that. I sent my friend map from the video, and nothing appeared to him either.Rachael wrote:All I can say is - portals work just fine for me! With no example wad there's no way to tell what's wrong.
Re: A bug with portals
The video seemsas if it might be showing "screen stuttering". I don't suppose it's the same bug as...

Re: A bug with portals
In this test map, I managed to achieve this effect only if I die in lava. After death there will be this bug, it can be noticed if you open and close the console or open and close the game menu. But something tells me that others will not have such a bug, like my friend.

Seems to be that way for me anyway. I've followed your instructions and tried a few different lava-death-console-menu combinations. Nothing out of the ordinary happened.Serious_MOod wrote:But something tells me that others will not have such a bug, like my friend.

And this is how it looks in my case. Apparently some very specific bug.Enjay wrote:Seems to be that way for me anyway. I've tried a few more times using your second video as a "how to" guide. I still can't make this happen on my system.

Re: A bug with portals
I tried to start the game with Vulkan. The game crashes when you pick up weapons, but this bug does not exist at all.
Re: A bug with portals
Ok it's pretty clear that it's driver shenanigans here, then. I'm glad it works better for you in Vulkan. I tried your sample in both OpenGL and Vulkan and couldn't get it to do what you showed in the vid. I think that your driver is just a buggy piece of garbage - as per usual anything OpenGL from both Intel and AMD.
Hopefully it won't take long to tie up all the loose ends with Vulkan.
