"Peter's Sexy HUD" by DTDSphere allowed using the standard statusbar without borders in widescreen resolutions. I picked up the idea and added many modifications and enhancements over time so that it became its own project by now.

IMPORTANT:
1) Minimum requirement: GZDoom v4.3.0 or newer. Download latest GZDoom release here!
2) Settings are here: "Options" --> "Full Options Menu" --> "HUD Options" --> "Fullscreen Status Bar"
3) Please refrain from asking for switching ammo and armor counters.


Highlights:
- Fullscreen statusbars for Doom, Freedoom, Chex, HacX, Harmony, Heretic and Hexen
- "Out of the box" compatibility with most Doom/Heretic/Hexen PWADs
- Option menu "Fullscreen Status Bar" (in "HUD Options") where you can adjust settings
- Choice between full statusbar or split bars (bottom left/right)
- 11 transparency modes: Off (0.0), custom (0.1-0.9), total (1.0)
- Optional removal of statusbar in automap view (key/armor panels in Hexen)
- Optional forcing of traditional automap colors on normal/overlay automap
- Optional level stats display (kills, items, secrets, level time) with 3 different modes (percentages, countdowns, fractions), 8 positioning options (top/center/bottom/status bar left/right), abbreviations (K/I/S), 25 completion colors and 4 fonts to choose from
- Optional Boom colors for ammo/health/armor numbers
- Optional replacement of mugshot with selected inventory item
- Optional "ARMS" numbers for split bar mode
- Optional Chex status bar with ARMS display and ammo overview

Either I'm blind or there's no download link. The latest version I can find in the former thread is v4.61 :S

I pulled it on short notice to add another feature: You can now choose between four different positions for the level stats (top left/right, bottom left/right). I also implemented m8f's recommendation for Boom color mode in Doom and Chex to make it at least a bit more mod-friendly. Download should be available again now.

This is really nice but I have one request. When you pick up inventory items it overrides the Mugshot with the items. Can we get another little window for those items?

I would need to know the name of at least one Doom mod which features inventory items for testing purposes.

Similar to Hexen, I would probably not place inventory items into the statusbar, but rather on top of it.

Well I was testing this HUD with the Project Einherjar sequel Midgard Outlaw so you could check that out.

SPAWN by David Billing. There's actually a redux version in development which I currently help testing. It features portable versions of invulnerability, invisibility, drain, timefreeze and Doomsphere (quad damage).

Update done. You now no longer lose the mugshot with a selected inventory item - if you don't want to. I have created a new menu option for this, called "Mugshot Inventory". If set to "On" (default), selected inventory items will be able to replace the mugshot. "Off" setting draws the selected item at the right side of the statusbar or on top of the right split bar. This option will only be available in Doom or Chex games.

Changelog v4.71 (Mar 5, 2019):
[DOOM/CHEX] Inventory bar modification (mugshot replaced by selected inventory item now optional)

Changelog v4.7 (Mar 4, 2019):
[ALL] Option to change level stats position (top left/right, bottom left/right)
[DOOM/CHEX] Fallback option for mods not using standard ammo in Boom color mode

Great HUD, esp. good job on the widescreen HUDs for Hexen and that split HUD makes everything visible but nothing blocks the view. Good job there!

I have a request though, could you interpolate the stat numbers, so that it e.g. counts up to 11% instead of going from 0 to 11% instantly? I think it would look nicer.

Interpolation for level stats has been added. It's actually a neat effect and I'm surprised I didn't come up with that idea by myself. Thanks a lot for the input!

If you want, you can include these two files I made among your PWAD fixes. One gives the Community Chest status bar a transparent background, which you may remember from the previous thread, and the other does the same for Operation Biowar's similar status bar. I wouldn't recommend splitting either of them.

I have experimented with adding "ARMS" info to the split bar in a subtle way. Here is an idea:



I intentionally did not put it on top of the ammo counter since it would collide with the "Bottom Left" setting of the level stats positioning.
This could be in the next version if there are no objections.
