Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
By mixing sprites from Maui Mallard in Cold Shadow (SNES) and Cadillac and Dinosaurs (Arcade), i made some coffee. Black. It's what i've been drinking everyday.
Here's a (cropped) GIF to show it in action.

(2x vanilla Doom monster resolution (~73 pixels high for a Hellknight), shown here at 200% for better viewing)
Quickly rendered this sequence as a test... I wonder if there is any interest in a complete Doom 3 sprite collection?

A good, well-rendered set of Doom 3 sprites would definitely go down a treat, especially if they used render settings to blend in with the old Doom sprites style. Nash and DrPySpy may have some suggestions in that regard.Cherno wrote:

The lower part of its leg bends in a very unnatural way just before it lifts.Cherno wrote:

Cleaned up the Pinky and started his rotations, also a little something extra.

Well, these are original animation frames, the way his right chest bulges also looks weird so I guess it's just a matter of finding the right frames. I wonder what would make more sonse, keeping the frame numbers of Doom (with it's rather choppy 4-frame walk cycle and such) or go for a smoother looks as shown above?

Your stuff always looks really nice. I used parts of a couple of your sprites to make the bad guys from Robocop.

Holy crud those are some nice sprites with flawless quality! And now i'm wondering, why we haven't made Robocop doom mod yet? :O

Someone took a poor stab at it for wolfenstein 3d about ten years ago and never finished it. Don't think anyone's been motivated enough otherwise.Captain J wrote:Holy crud those are some nice sprites with flawless quality! And now i'm wondering, why we haven't made Robocop doom mod yet? :O
But those sprites are all done. They have all animation frames viewed from one angle, and I implemented them in Decorate, too.

Well my oh my... You're very quick! The result is nice and superb. Much better than those Titus developers did.

Wish I knew what to do for regular enemies though.

Hmm... how about Operation Body Count? You can use some of the terrorists as regular enemies.ImpieTwo wrote:Wish I knew what to do for regular enemies though.
